Big update. I havn't been around, and it's almost like the zombie clan went missing! Here’s a news update to cover the past 3 months and upcoming 3 months. There’s a lot, and it’s important, so read it.

I’m sure everyone’s wondering WTF is the ZOMBIE clan doing. Well, we’ve entered CAL. Got a 100 slot Ventrilo. Got a private 12 slot CSS server. Started a ZOMBIE guild in World of Warcraft, and tried (but failed) to get a website up. So I’ll list what’s happened, in order of most important first.


1. The Website – zombie-clan.com; It’s up and working. But today I got a full refund. The $500 put toward it will now be saved so that we can find a cheaper alternative in the future. We tried making the website, however we just needed more than a team of amateurs could do. Next time around we’re going to have to hire a professional web designer make up the website. It will include free downloads, links to all of our clan official games, guilds and leagues, have a clan roster, a forum, and list all of our servers (ventrilos included) and where to get the necessary software, if any, to use them.


2. CAL – Yes, we did CAL. We’re an official CAL-O team, but we all work. Due to issues with simply showing up, we typically had little to no preparation for matches. We put up a good fight but lost, and we continue to play for fun. We completely anticipate on completing CAL next season, and we need a good team for it! So if you want to be CAL, practice like you never have before. We’ll hold tryouts when the time comes, and we’ll have a CAL application on our website.


3. Ventrilo – We have a 100 slot, public Ventrilo with tons of public and private channels. krypton.typefrag.com; port = 50487. Visit Ventrilo.com to download the application! Use it as much as you want. In the future, we plan on getting another 100 slot Ventrilo for clan member only use.


4. Servers – We had a number of public CSS servers, but they all went down. We had a lazy setup on them, leading to issues that caused them to crash. Now we’re too lazy to fix it. We intend on getting a number of dedicated servers to host 10-15 public, 100tic, 32 slot CSS servers. We additionally will hold a few private servers, and have a temporary one now.


5. Money – Money is the big word. We’re out of it. We’ve all put blood, sweat, and cash into this clan. I want everything up and running like I’ve dreamt, and I won’t stop until it is. I’m working 40-60 hours a week, on top of college and juggling a home life, just to fund this stuff. So please, have some change? You can contribute by donating. Go to zombie.clansites.com and click “donate” on the left side, and you can donate to us there. We desperately need the help, and the only thing holding us back is cash. So far I’ve put $900 and tons of hours into the clan, what can you do?


Well, that’s been us. We mostly need money, and are having a hard time getting it. As of today we have a total worth of $10 in donations, and about $500 in the bank. I anticipate we need $1,600 to get a dedicated, website, and another Ventrilo going for a year or so. I’ll put in another total of $500, putting the bank to $1,000. We need $600 more folks, so help out!

History

We started about four years ago with FiTzY, Brown-E, and myself, SFU2236. Mid way through high school, we had already been playing for years. The classic Zombie mod came out for CS, where players would be CTs and fight Terrorist bots, who were zombies. No 1 hit knife kill, no infinite ammo and knock back. We played all the time, and as CTs we learned to get good with everything.

When you were low on cash, it meant you might have to use a TMP, which means you needed to get really good with it. We played so long and the shotgun eventually became all of our specialties, and then we decided to start playing as zombies with the bots. The bots used the [ZOMBIE] tag before their name, and not having this tag meant all the CTs would pick you out of the crowd and kill you first in fear that you were smarter than the bots. So, we started using the tag, and that's how our clan began.

Eventually, the zombie mod turned into a camp and spray game, which was unwelcomed. FiTzY found MnC, another founding member who started trends. From different mods and games, we quickly started to become a multi-game clan.

Years passed and here we are today. MnC has again inspired, and now we're going to become a larger CAL clan, who still plays around just to have fun, and still a multi-game clan. Using temporary websites, ventrilos, and servers, we do intend completely on getting plenty of game servers, our own official website, and a rather large ventrilo for all of our clan members to use.
